It’s true. The new Humboldt penguin exhibit at Woodland Park Zoo is opening soon!
The exhibit will include 20 breeding pairs of Humboldt penguins with nesting areas where you can actually see penguin pairs raising their young. There will also be a children’s “splash zone” where the kiddos can play and be surprised by a sporadic splash of water through a “blowhole”. Learn more here at the Woodland Park Zoo’s website.

This Saturday, April 11, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. -2:00 p.m, come check out the 8th Annual Bunny Bounce at the Woodland Park Zoo.
All activities/egg hunts will take place on the North Meadow of the Zoo.
Woodland Park Zoo’s Bunny Bounce will feature fun and interactive activities for the whole family. Children 1-8 will have the opportunity to participate in one of many egg hunts on the zoo’s North Meadow. Each egg hunt is based on a first come, first served basis and new egg hunts start every half hour or so from 10am-2pm. Also, back by popular demand is the self-serve egg hunt for toddlers ages 3 and under.
Other “eggs-citing” activities include crafts, bunny encounters, entertainment and more! Hooray for bunnies!!
Activities are free with zoo admission and entrance to the event is free for zoo members. As part of the zoo’s conservation mission, children are encouraged to bring their own basket or bag for eggs hunts.
